From Igad
A song written in the summer of 2007. A song partly about the struggle between the mind and the heart.

(See Above) Never peformed in public as of yet, so this is a "World Premier". I recently changed the left hand from the claw hammer thing I have been overusing to a John Martyn-esqu slap/picking thing, which I think works better.
[edit] Lyrics
I asked my soulmate
To help me find a way
The only thing that she'd tell me
Was to count my blessings each day
Chorus
I've always been a mathematician
I've always tried to count my way
But when I tried to count my blessings
All the numbers just faded away
I caught myself in the mirror
I bled at the damage I'd laid
I wondered could I count on salvation
Without salvation being paid
Chorus Rpt
Do the anchient mysteries need solving
Or mysteries are they meant to remain
I think we really should stop counting
On sanity arriving someday
Chorus Rpt
So I asked my soulmate
If what she said was true
She smiled as she told me
That all depends on you
(Chorus)
You've always been a mathematician
You've always liked to count your way
Well of all your countless blessings
There's one you can count on today
I've always been a mathematician
I've always tried to count my way
But when I tried to count my blessings
All the numbers just faded away
