Dino Dini on the Internet
From Igad
The life of the egomaniac would not be complete without looking for quotes of themselves, references to themselves and articles about themselves on the Internet, would it?
It is actualyl quite difficult for me to find interesting links about myself, because there are too many dull links, but I recently tried Google's Blog search. This was quiet interesting... Dino 03:16, 12 January 2008 (CET)

[edit] Design
I have a lot to say on the subject. How much are my thoughts entering the conciousness of the world then? I was encouraged to find that some people have been listening to what I have been saying... I had no idea.
- October 2007
- Quoting from conference talk abstract for 2005 Game Design and Technology Workshop held by Liverpool JM University. I used to enjoy giving talks there, but my last one must have been just too off the wall for them and my third talk was my last (although I got good feedback from a few people). Anyway this talk was about my own theory of design concstraints which I have been developing for many years. Maybe I'll write a book about it onw day. BTW, it has nothing much to do with TOC.
- Oct 15th, 2007
- "Treat constraints as friends", quoting me again on the subject of design, this is something I believe with a passion. Only undisciplined minds think that true freedom comes from being able to do anything you like.
[edit] Self created
- September 2007
- Was this written by Dino Dini himself?
- Yes I wrote it, go on call me names then! 82.173.156.166 00:03, 12 January 2008 (CET)
Digg - Video Game Programming Guru Dino Dini exposes truth of 3DO working hours
- 11th Jan 2008 minus 155 days
- This was my own post (doh! the username is the same as my youtube account, I am hardly hiding it). I say good things about the video in this. This is not due to egomaniacle tendencies, but an ancient custom known as "marketing"
[edit] Hate
Many people hate me[1][2][3][4] They hate me so much that they will go to any lengths to prove tham I am some mad ego maniacal daemon who thinks he is something special, but instead is not worthy of wiping the boots of Stuart Campbell. I do wonder sometimes whether in fact things are not really this bad, and most if not all the attacks might in fact come only from Stuart as he manipulates a very large number of sock puppets in wielding some master plan to reduce the great Dino Dini to tears, however that can be dismissed as a mere fantasy created by an over stimulated mind. It is something I just wrote in the spirit of attempting humor. Stuart always alludes to the possibility of legal action, so I better me careful what I say after all. Anyway, when I occasionally get some coverage in a blog somewhere it usually turns nasty (and after all this is why I gave up posting on The Chaos Engine and Wikipedia... being non-annoymous is a crime, apparently...) and they always make amusing reading...

- Complete outrage as I play guitar and improvise a silly song about wikipedia. People claim I am bitter, oh so bitter, and completely miss the point that I am actually just having a bit of fun. Things get very serious indeed, as a critical analysis takes place.... highlights:
- "Personally I think it’s a shame that Dino should feel the need to do this." - Mort
- I agree, it is such a terrible shame. I mean *such* a *shame* to have a laugh or two at the exepense of Wikipedia, or is that now known as Blasphemy?
- "I think it’s a shame that any man finds himself so inchoate with rage he’s forced to result to freestyle vocal acrobatics." - Kieron Gillen
- Such a shame, such a terrible shame... boo hoo... mind you I thought I was just scatting. I like scatting. It's fun! In walked bud
- "To be fair to the lad, he can play the guitar." - Mort
- New respect for Mort, who is risking complete social suicide by saying something nice about me. I like bravery.
- "Dini appears to be doing a Jonathon King. Both are men with dubious past achievements who try to live on past glories despite being made irrelevent by developments in their respective industries..." - James
- Ah, the keen analytical commentator with plenty to say that has no basis in reality. I mean I was just playing around with a vidoe on youtube like millions of others, but James cannot resist going from a silly song about wikipedia to a serious analytical justification of why it is ok that he is such a bad video game player that everyone beat him at KickOff 2. I bet he likes PES, because he sometimes wins because the game results are just random. (I am of course just making a joke, no offence meant, even to PES fans). He continues, never-the-less:
- "Meanwhile the Oliver Twins are apparently preparing their own song in response to a poor review given to a Dizzy game by Amstrad Action in 1986……."
- A wonderful example of a tenuous connection, and feeble misfiring humor. The song is about how Wikipedia will not let the article state that I am a musician, it has nothing to do with my career in video games at all. Bravo, James! Next time, actually pay attention to what is going on....
- "Meanwhile the Oliver Twins are apparently preparing their own song in response to a poor review given to a Dizzy game by Amstrad Action in 1986……."
- "My lovely horse, running through the… field… Where are you going with your fetlocks blowing in the… wind…" - Richard
- Yep, it was time for the cryptic reference
- "Player Manager was crap. Kick Off was awesome. Nuff said." - Stodge
- Stodge, putting the world to rights!
- "Perhaps he was just having some light hearted fun? Looks like a guy improvising a rant for light relief to me." - squiddly
- Squiddly bravely suggestion that it was after all just a bit of fun....
- "That was the worst excuse for a song I’ve heard. You are not a musician. As for someone critiquing “anally rententive” people obsessed with wikipedia - you seem the most obsessive out of all of them." - riddler
- Responding to squiddly's comment with a below the belt swipe that reveals that I must have touched the riddler on a sore spot. I am now apparently the most anally retentive wikipedia editor in the whole big wide world! That is why of course I am someone who dares to post a silly song. This is a very well known trait of the anally retentive all over the world.
[edit] Notes
- ↑ I would like to thank the user at IP address 86.150.131.100 for their contribution "FACT CORRECTION" in which they removed the content from this page and replaced it with "Oh for God's sake just SHUT UP and DIE. You are tedious beyond the limits of perception.". Unfortunately, 86.150.131.100 is being inconsistent, as if in fact I were tedious beyond the limits of perception, then 86.150.131.100 would not have been able to make the observation. This leads us to conclude that 86.150.131.100 is either a. Lying b. Wrong or c. an Odiophile. I personally believe that c. is the correct case here. Thank you 86.150.131.100 for once again helping the advancement of human kind by demonstrating just how worthless and stupid odiophiles are. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.
- ↑ Yes the previous is in fact meant to be tedious by design. This is humor applying the mechanic of Irony, just to make absolutely sure that there is no mistake in interpretation by the reader here, which would be most distressing.
- ↑ And once again another example of tediousness
- ↑ and once again... <stack overflow... core dump>
